It's time for drum tech adventures again!
Between March 27th - April 28th 2024 I toured as a drum tech with Finntroll on "Vredesvävd" European tour. This was the second long tour in Europe supporting the "Vredesvävd" album, the first taking place in late 2022. Since then we did tours in Finland, UK and Latin America and summer festivals. But now it was time to tour Europe again. Here we go!

Have been waiting long for next episode :) One question, what is the most common malfuction that require to change pedal during the show?
A few times it had something to do with the settings getting a bit off, but we've done it all, really... broke the direct drive, broke the spring, you name it... 😝

Hi Toni, as a drummer i was curious why you use uv1 on snare top. Is that for more open sound?
It's the drummer's choice. He likes the open sound but also the rebound. All the moongels and other dampers and snare heads with dots are on our "absolutely no-no" list...

Kunnon pläjäys! Mitä mieltä viritysmittareista? Käytäkkö koskaan kalvosulkeisissa?
Mittarillahan saa tietysti samat lukemat rumpuihin aina, mutta kyllä noissa kovastikin vaihtelevan kokoisissa ja muotoisissa keikkapaikoissa parhaan lopputuloksen saa virittämällä setin sen tilan mukaan ihan korvalla. Joskus olen studiossa bottia käyttänyt siten, että ensin laitan setin vireeseen ja sitten otan lukemat ylös ja välillä tarkkailen että vire ei kovasti laske.
On ollut kyllä paska vuosi tähän asti, mutta tämä pätkä kokonaisuudessaan piristi todella paljon, kiitos. Seuraavaksi hankin Fintrollin levyn ✌🥁

I really enjoy watching your vids, you are clearly talented, I know drummers dress how they want or to be comfortable etc and each to their own and whatever works for the individual but looked like you were playing in jeans lol and so chilled out. It was great to see, you looked like you were having a blast. Clearly you had notes and were looking whilst playing, that must take some doing to be playing, looking and knowing what's coming next, full credit to you mate!

Thank you for your comment! I totally agree and definitely would like to release content more often, but it's just a matter of how much time I have from my work as a drummer and a drum tech to work on videos. Lately there hasn't been much, but still I choose quality over quantity. A video like this takes weeks to put together. There is a part 2 for the Steve Vai video, but unfortunately the orchestra management didn't give permission to release anything from the rehearsal or the concert, so it shall remain unreleased. All the best!

Wow Toni, Ok so this was 13 years ago and am catching up on your vids, but have to say even though I've been watching newer ones more, I am working my way through them all. Holy shit this was good! It came across as very technical and the precision was amazing, playing alternate sides too without effort, you made it look easy - I know it obviously wasn't lol. I really enjoyed it and glad I've seen some of your early stuff too!
